Reviews

Glide Sport Kayak (Glacier Blue) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good to begin with Owned for one year. First kayak and great for the lakes. I've had a few beginners in this and they all say that they 'feel safe' in it. It has a high deck that lends to that gotcha covered feeling. With that there have also been complaints from some that they hit their hands on the lip. Also feet placement can be uncomfortable and adjusting the pegs while in the water is a scary undertaking. Its very stable, quick enough and I'm a large person, it's easy to get in and out of. If lifetime would replace the pegs with a easier adjustment system and have an accessory for placing your feet a bit more comfortable on the floor, there would have been happier rides by all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great beginner kayak for us! I have not had the tipping issues as mentioned in previous reviews, however, I also didn't get in and out while out on the water. It was easy to get in and comfortable. Mine has a storage compartment in the back which is great for when taking off layers. We have enjoyed this kayak very much. I like how much faster I can go on it than my Lifetime sit on top kayaks. The handles at each end are not only convenient for transporting, but also to paddle in a child who is tired of swimming and can just hold onto the handle at the back :). Love the cradle for the paddle to rest when not in use. I would suggest tightening the bungees before first use. Mine also has a wheel which makes transporting for one person quite easy, as this can be a bit of a heavy kayak for me. This has been a great kayak!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A different kind of adventure I bought this the summer of 2015. This being my second Lifetime kayak. I have owned the old Chute 98 kayak for several years and I love it. My experience with this more expensive Emotion kayak has not been the same. It tips to the side very easily, and once it tips it fills completely up with water. I had to drag it to the shore in order to drain it each time I tipped. It got to the point that I thought there had to be a flaw of some kind with the kayak, but I cannot find any visual defects or damage on the kayak. My Chute 98 is very similar (sit inside) and I can get in and out of it in the middle of the lake no problem. Even when it tips the water that gets inside in minimal. The glide sport is made with fishing in mind but I would never feel secure enough in it to do it. A different kind of adventure, by comparison, indeed.Pros: -Padded Seat and Backrest-Thigh Pads-I like the texture of the plastic bodyCons:-Tips easy-No handles at the center of kayak to make 1 person carrying easier. Edge of the hole in the kayak is sharp and hard on the hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great kayak! My first Lifetime kayak is, I believe, the first kayak that Lifetime manufactured, the Schute 98. When I got married 3.5 years ago I needed to get another kayak so I bought the Glide. My first time out I tipped the Glide kayak 3 times just attempting to get in at the lake. Since then I have gotten the hang of it. I just tested them both out again this weekend to see if I could figure out why the Glide seemed more unstable. I think it is because my original kayak has a molded backrest and a pad. The glide does not, so you just have to be more careful not to relax too much on the Glide. That being said I have fished out of the Glide with no incidents. It really doesn't take away from this kayak. Just making the comparison between the two sit inside Lifetime kayaks that I own. My wife paddles both like a pro. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kayak review I have had this kayak for about a year and have really enjoyed it. Each time I have taken it out, I have had comments on it. The last time I was out a fellow asked me about it and did I enjoy it. After talking to him, he said he would look into getting one as he felt it would a lot more comfortable than using an inner tube to float rivers. I offered to let him try mine but he had to get home. I don't know if he has done anything further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable Kayak Bought 2 Emotion kayaks. They track as well as some of the most expensive ones available. Great for Arizona lakes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great speed and tracking! Stable kayak with lots of storage! I borrowed two of these kayaks from a neighbor for a weekend at the lake and I was glad I did. I loved that they were light and easy to load and unload. My other kayaks are the Lotus and the Hydros which are extremely stable but slow. Each kayak has its moment and the Glide Sport kayak was definitely the kayak chosen for paddling longer distances on our weekend trip. I did find that getting in and out of the kayak was a bit tricky and it took practice on the uneven ground where we were launching. Once in the kayak I felt safe and I didn't worry about tipping. The kayak has quite a bit of storage space behind the seat and in front. However, all of it is open so if you roll or get water in the kayak everything will get wet so you will want to secure your stuff and put it in dry bags. While fishing on the water you won't be able to access stuff stored behind your seat easily but there is ample room in front for a small tackle box and other gear. Two rod holders behind the seat provide easy access to fishing poles. The padded seat was comfortable and made longer trips more comfortable. I really liked this kayak and loved how quickly it moved in the water while still providing good stability.
