Ground Sleeve for 4 in. Square Basketball Pole

Ground Sleeve for 4 in. Square Basketball Pole

Lifetime strives to keep your options open by designing versatile accessories like our basketball pole sleeve (or ground sleeve). With a pole sleeve, you get the rigidity of an inground pole with the convenience of easy removal. The basketball pole sleeve provides you with the option for later removal of your basketball system if you should move or desire to replace the system. The basketball pole sleeve requires cement for installation which provides the rigidity you desire. The Lifetime ground sleeve is easy to use. The unique design allows you to slide the pole into the ground sleeve and a locking tab secures it to the ground. For removal, simply unlock and slide the pole out.

NOTE This ground sleeve cannot be used to convert a portable system into an inground system. To make such a conversion, call Customer Service at 1-800-225-3865 for special parts and instructions.

For more information about assembly, read the Owner's Manual Sample.

I will be installing your 4" square ground sleeve with model 78888 hoop system. Do I need just one piece of 30" rebar? What diameter rebar is best? Is bigger better?

Asked by: Mike511
Just one 30 in price of rebar is all you need. The instructions do not specify the diameter of the rebar. Larger is probably better than smaller diameter.

On the instructions is says nine 80lb bags of concrete mix. Talking to a Home Depot employee that seems over kill for a 21" x 24" round hole. Is this accurate? When mixing should there be less water?

Asked by: cyry
Yes that is correct and what we recommend when cementing this item.

is a 17.3" long sleeve deep enough into the ground for canadian winters? any additional concerns to consider?

Asked by: notwins1
You will want to check with your city to see what the frost line is in your area to know how deep you should put your in-ground system to be okay in your area.
