Description

The Lifetime outdoor shed is a stylish storage solution. It never needs painting and it comes with shelving and peg strips so you can find what you need, when you need it. This attractive Lifetime outdoor shed keeps your garden equipment organized and handy. Constructed from UV-protected high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic with powder-coated steel reinforcements, this Lifetime outdoor shed is built to weather the storms. It requires very low maintenance--designed with a high-impact polyethylene floor that is resistant to stains and solvents, and an exterior surface that can simply be sprayed down with a garden hose for routine cleaning. Made in the USA from US and imported parts. Covered by a 10 yr. limited warranty in US and Canada.Compatible with our 8 ft expansion kits. Not compatible with the Lifetime Snow Load or Extreme Weather Kit.

Consult local building codes before assembly. This shed must be built on a flat level foundation of wood or concrete (not included). It is designed with a slight indentation in each corner of the floor so that you can drill through the flooring to secure it to the foundation. Anchoring hardware depends on the type of foundation you have and is therefore not included in the shed kit. Not including the installation of the foundation, you can expect assembly of the shed itself to take 2 adults up to 6 hours.

For more information about assembly, read the Owner's Manual Sample and watch our helpful video on How To Build A Lifetime Shed. (Components will vary between different models).

Reviews

10 ft. x 8 ft. Shed is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installation of Lifetime 6001 w/2.5 Extension Kit After reviewing sheds extensively on the internet, I settled on a Lifetime 6001 with a 30" extension kit w/window. The shed has 2- double doors with 3 windows, one with an operable pane. I read several reviews on the installation along with videos from the manufacturer and decided to install the shed by my self. Contrary to some of the reviews, the instructions were spot on and very explanatory. It took me a total of 15 hours to complete. The shed looks great and I am impressed with the engineering and quality of the product. This shed definitely gets my recommendation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Customer Took me some time to decide whether to get this or a Keter Factor. Good thing I followed my best judgement because getting this absolutely did not disappointment our decision. Got one of this from Lowes this early winter. During assembly I asked for very minimum help, just to hold both doors upright then finished the rest myself. I had no problem following the instruction since it was clear and straightforward. I did stumble some missing items but lifetime customer service address my issue without delays. Hats off to them, being so professional. Shed survived its 1st Alberta winter therefore I think this structure will last until it drop. Wonderful design too, currently an envy to view in our backyard. Good job LIfetime!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Built It What a great shed! Lots of parts so it takes a couple of days to put together. If you're lining up help, know there is about 8 hours of pre-assembly which you can do without help, so get your buddies lined up for day 2 when assistance is definitely an asset. One assistant was all I needed. The shed looks fantastic and even matches my house! It goes together well and the instructions are quite good. I know from the way it goes together that it will be nice and tight. In a heavy snow, I would be very much inclined to clear the roof periodically. Looking forward to moving stuff into it tomorrrow. I recommend this shed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant building!! I bought this nearly 3 years ago and it has been excellent, I use it as my outdoor gym and it was one of the few buildings I could find in my price range that had the necessary head height to allow overhead pressing. I have had no issue with water leaking in other than up through the floor (which is of my own doing) but one issue I now have is the back wall is slightly bowed. However, the building is still in excellent condition and I have no doubt a little remedial work would have that fixed no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10 X 8 Model 60001 Lifetime Shed Is A Great Shed This was the summer of sheds, tearing down 2 old ones, replacing with new plastic sheds, etc. I had two sheds to install, both from different manufactures and this is how it all stacked up.The first shed was an 8 X 10 Lifetime shed model 60001. I got it up in a day, all the offers for help never happened so I did it alone. Took maybe a bit longer, probably12 hours or so. Instructions were okay, a few things were a little abstract and vague but in the end run understandable and able to follow. Done its up and it’s a wonderful shed, looks great, quality is above par. I learned a few tips along way if you’re interested. Silicone caulk the skylights, all of them from the inside, silicone where the wall panels meet the floor to keep surface water from coming in, and seal the floor panel connection joints. Where I live rain is no joke, it rains probably 9 months of the year here and things will leak if a person doesn’t seal and seal more. Next thing I learned don’t be afraid to call Lifetime support, they are amazing! They forgot send a few parts, called them and it was there in a few days. I also needed a little help understanding what a few parts were for as they weren’t listed in the directions. Can’t say enough about the support, knowledgeable, polite, courteous, ‘great’ really sums it up.Now shed 2, ugggh! It wasn’t a Lifetime shed and all I can say is…,ummm, well it’s up. I only ordered this one because it was the right size that I needed for the pad I was installing on and there were only two available sheds that would fit the pad size. So during my two week adventure of being a plastic shed one minute expert I learned that the Lifetime shed was light years ahead with respects to quality, ease of assembly, aesthetics, directions, you name it. I never called support for the second shed. Sadly the second shed is the ugly duckling of the two sheds. Fortunately I won’t be putting in anymore sheds for a very long time, but I will recommend Lifetime sheds for sure. One thing it’s still dry here, waiting to see when it starts the never ending rains if they stay water tight, keep you posted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Shed! Pros:"very attractive","Roomy","Functional" Cons:"Leaky windows","Complicated instructions" Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Be sure to do an inventory of PARTS BEFORE putting this shed together. We started to assemble and discovered we were missing a couple of parts. We contacted Lifetime and they were great, we had the missing pieces within 5 days and we live in Canada! The shed took a full day and 1/2 to assemble. We had 3 people (one on instructions and 2 doing the actual work) as suggested in the instructions. It went pretty well. Would have been very difficult with less than that... more would have even been better. At times we found the instructions complicated. The part #'s do not always match the instructions or the parts list so that was very confusing at times. That being said we did manage to get thought it and we are NOT HANDY people. We have been using the shed for a couple of weeks and we love it. The only issue we have had so far is the wall windows (not the sky lights) will leak water with a hard rain and the wind blowing right in their direction. We are going to try chaulking them to try and rectify that. Very attractive, roomy and fuctional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An overall amazing shed Pretty much the same as what the other reviewers are saying:- Some ambiguity in the way certain parts are referred to in the manual which could get confusing.- Make sure you have checked first that you have all the parts. I ended up building a bit of the shed and then finding out that 2 boxes were duplicated (even though marked with a different label) and it took about 2 weeks to ship the box I needed to Canada. Apart from the fact that I was getting quite antsy with a half-finished shed, I had a couple of days of strong winds that folded up part of the shed which bent the floor. I was able to sort of save it with ropes and so on. Don't mean to sound negative, as the other reviewers said the customer support is truly OUTSTANDING! I have not seen such support anywhere. Politeness, courteousness, list goes on... in my very first request they said they would not only send it expedited shipping but that would also be free!- The shed itself looks really good and looks very solid. I'll have to see how it behaves in a year or more but for now, AWESOME!P.S.: I have built a wood foundation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be a Very Good Handyman and Will need 2 Helpers. Read the Instruction Manual Before Buying. I have recently purchased this product. Took me 3 full days to get the product installed. Instruction in the Manual is very bad. I had to watch a lot of help tutorial videos.****NONE OF THE ITEMS WERE MARKED (LABELED) EXCEPT BAGS OF SCREWS.*******PREPARE TO MEASURE PARTS TO IDENTIFY.****I consider myself very handy with tools but this Shed really beat me. Had to take an extra day off from work to install. In past I had bought Rubbermaid shed in my old house and I had it build in 1 day with 1 extra person help.Do yourself a favor. *** READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE BUYING THIS PRODUCT AND YOU WILL REALIZE HOW MUCH YOU WILL HAVE TO DO BEFORE YOU GET THE FINAL PRODUCT.***I have taken VOW never to buy LIFETIME Products ever again.Good Luck if you still want to buy it.

Can the side door go on either side of the shed?

Asked by: Corn
Do the corner pieces change if you put the side door on the opposite side? It looks like they should change but the parts don't fit if you change them.

Is it an option to place the wall panel with the operational window on the side wall instead of the back wall?

Asked by: DonC
It is possible to place the window wall panel on the 8' side of the shed but you if you do so you will not be able to use the 90" shelf that comes with this model of shed as it can only be attached to the 8' side of the shed.

We're looking at your model # 60001 garden shed and wondering if it is available in the tan colour?

Asked by: Daniel
The wall panels on this shed are Desert Sand (Tan) in color and the roof panels and doors are dark brown in color. The wall panels look lighter in the photo just due to the lighting. We apologize about the confusion.

Can this shed be painted?

Asked by: ertybird
One of the biggest advantages of the polyethylene plastic material from which Lifetime Sheds are constructed is that they do not require painting, So in short, no we do not recommend painting a Lifetime shed.

Is it possible to add the 30" extensions to an 8' X 10' shed after the shed has been completely assembled? If possible, is it recommended or practical? When adding these extensions to a shed with side and end doors, does it matter which end they go on?

Asked by: JAKJAK
Yes it is possible to add an extension kit to this model of shed. The extension kit can be placed on either end of the shed.
