Assembly & Manuals

Horizontal Storage Box is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good instructions, easy to understand. I purchased & received this shed a few days ago. It took me a day to assemble at a leisurely pace. I wasn't in a hurry. Everything fit nicely which made things easy. I think the most difficult part was assembling the lock. You really have to look at the plan carefully to align the parts correctly. That was the only difficult part of the whole assembly. Once I finished assembling the shed I fixed the floor to two 3/4" treated plywood sheets. The floor is rock solid.  It looks great. It was the only horizontal shed I could find to fit my two bikesto shield them from sun & rain.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mine must have been made on Friday... Assembly was going great until I got to the hinges. It started with the top hinge on the left door. As I was screwing the hinge in with the provided screws, the plastic pulled away from the metal that is inside the door. The metal piece inside the door, I believe is supposed to have pilot hole in it to allow for the screws to be fasten to it. And when I went to fasten the hinge to the shed, the same thing happened. I have had the same problem with three out of the four hinges. I had to go get a metal drill bit in order to drill pilot holes that were already supposed to be there. I already had too much time invested to take the shed back or I would have.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT Value! Bought mine at Costco. Assembly took about an hour by myself. Simple enough to put together. Like Ikea furniture. Careful not to over torque the screws because its made of plastic. I used an electric screw driver with torque adjustment. Fits great in my backyard. Low enough so it doesn't stickout over the fence and disrupt the view. Good enough for the California rain. Customer service is EXCELLENT! Great value for what you pay for it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice for the price I utilized both the instructions and you tube videos to assemble this horizontal shed. It fits my lawn mower, power washer, and spreader just fine. The process took me about 7 hours (by myself) to assemble taking my time. The only difficulty I had was the top covers (aligning the two lid halves properly and the inside bar brackets to sit perfectly behind the molded clips. Paid $299.99 plus tax for this @ Costco. Utilized a battery powered drill, mallet/hammer, socket wrench, and adjustable wrench. The only negative is that I think Lifetime could have separated the screws in clearly marked grouped packages. BTW the video is out of date with some of the brackets and I somehow ended up with a few screws that I clearly didn't miss lol

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good, but plastic The previous reviewer mentioned the instructions. While, I had a little trouble figuring out the door instructions / orientation of certain metal pieces, it went together in about 2-3 hours, with 1 person. I used a socket set and a my cordless drill and impact gun. Other than being pretty competent, I think you really need the cordless tools, a long philips screwdriver and a socket set... And about 150 sq ft to work in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value Perfect size for storing our outdoor landscaping equipment. Bought it at Costco, and had it assembled in about 1.5-2 hours. The videos online make process faster and help you with what might be unclear in directions. Seals really well, haven't had any water issues. Just wish it would work a little better on surface that isn't perfectly flat. This isn't too bad to fix, but only complaint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble and looks great! Got this at Costco (it's a heavy big box!). All the parts were very well marked (except for the metal pieces which are marked with part numbers vs the letters that are in the instructions). Directions were pretty easy to follow. I did make assembly much easier by getting a 6'x38" piece of 3/4" pressure treated plywood which made a nice sturdy level assembly platform which I think was a key to putting it together. You definitely need a second person for some portion of assembly but most of it can be done by one person. Start to finish, 3 hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Lawn tools I wanted a shed to store all of my lawn and garden tools that wasn't too big for my back yard. This fit PERFECTLY on the side of my house out of site. Everything fit great and now my wife appreciates all the space we now have in the garage!

Can I put a lock or there is a lock already?

Asked by: OrhanK
There is a locking mechanism with a few settings - lock lid and doors, unlock lid only (doors locked), and unlock lid and doors. The lid is secured by a latch and the doors are secured by a vertical rod that extends into the base. The door edges are also reinforced with metal. I suppose you could also run a cable lock through the handles, but since it's a resin shed an aggressive burglar would not have too much of a problem gaining access. If you just want security from animals, kids, or casual entry, the included lock/latch would be fine. I wouldn't have a problem storing my lawnmower or other tools/machines in the shed, but if you're not in a safe neighborhood and concerned about property theft then you might want to consider something more solid. I'm happy with my shed, though.
