Reviews

8 ft. x 6.5 ft. Storage Shed is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking shed if it fits your space Bought this shed to go against the side wall of my house. Beware - make sure you measure up your space acurately. Quality of the shed is superb and it's very attractive for a shed, but it is too tall. We have a low roof and it didn't fit. We had to put it sideways, so the door is at right angles to the side wall. There was no way it could be adapted to fit and It doesn't look right with the gable sloping down to meet the wall. Had I known it would have to go this way around I would have bought the 8' x 10' to give me more shed space. All the other sheds in the series are shorter than this one and would have fit. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice shed. Took about 7 hours to put this together by myself. Some of the operations required were challenging, like inserting the doors into the base. Also the fit of the roof panels was questionable. The packaging was very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking shed I was looking for a quality shed to put my seasonal items in there to give me more room in the garage. This shed does exactly what I was looking for. Assembly went very well, two people, it took about 5 hours to assemble. The structural integrity of this shed seems to be much higher than similarly sized sheds that were priced lower. I spent a little more money, but I feel it was well worth it for a more solid structure.I did add a couple of ‘curtains’ to mine, I thought it would help to keep the contents a little more secure, if you can’t see what’s in there, why bother. To do this I simply used a quarter inch round aluminum rod, a couple of quarter inch electrical cable straps, and a couple of old tee shirts. If I was ever in the market for another shed, I would definitely consider another one of these, they look great, easy assembly, and should hold up well to the elements.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from sturdy with easy assembly. I bought this at Costco (actual model 60160) Which is 8' X 7.5' but same features. The instructions are generally very clear and precise. A few of the plastic pieces, wall and roof panels seemed a bit thin on plastic thickness, which allowed a couple of the screws to strip too easily. I used a Ryobi 18v cordless drill/driver set at torque 4 or 5 out of possible 24 which is comparable to light/medium effort with a hand screw driver. I bought this shed as a replacement after moving and leaving the same type of shed at our previous house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Storage Sheds We purchased two of these sheds and installed them on 3/4" plywood, atop (4) 4x4 laid over a gravel pad. They were easy to assemble, and all the part were included. The installation manual was easy to follow and every part was clearly identified. My wife and I installed them both in two days.We live in northern Idaho and get several feet of snow each winter. We were concerned about the possible snow load. However the roof pitch is about 6:12, and it sheds the snow easily, before it builds up to any significant level. We have not had to "rake" the roof all winter and have had 97% of average snowfall this year. The shed are water tight and protect all the items we removed from the garage. This is excellent waterproof storage for items that do not need to be kept in warm storage. We used plastic shelving unit inside the sheds to maximize the storage space. We are very satisfied with the quality and durability of these shed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shed Solid construction, goes together well. Must have a level base to set on and is definitely a 2 person job to setup. When completed this shed looks great, hold up to the elements and provides a good deal of storage space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Storage, Weatherproof, Excellent Value I purchased this shed nearly 3 years ago and I have been very impressed with how it has held up in the elements. I needed a place to store yard equipment since our garage is too small. This shed became the solution to that problem. I have added shelving units to it and it now stores a lot more than I had previously planned to put in there. The doors are one of my favorite features as they basically make it possible to have a entire side open to access the stuff inside or to put large items inside. The unit also has a skylight so when it is light outside you don't need a light to find what you are looking for. The roof has remained watertight over the years. Overall, this shed has been an excellent solution and I would highly recommend it. This was so much easier than building a shed myself out of wood and I know it looks better than anything I would have built. More importantly for me the cost was much less than what it would have cost to build a comparable a shed on my own.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked Great for 2 years... We loved this shed for the first 2 years we owned it. Then the skylight started to crack and disintegrate. Now it's almost useless as it get's wet inside, and has made the platform soft.

Ask a Question

can I paint this shed?

Asked by: 1212
We do not recommend painting our sheds. The plastic material that our sheds are manufactured out of is designed to expand and contract with the heat and cold so any kind of paint applied will more than likely chip or peel off.

is this product 60179 being discontinued? If so is there a newer model?

Asked by: dlee
Unfortunately this model of shed is now an obsolete model of shed. We currently do not have an 8' x 6.5' shed available. We do offer sheds that are 8' x 5' or 8' x 7.5' that you could look into.

Would I need a concrete/asphalt pad to put this on?

Asked by: Urubu715
Our sheds do require some sort of foundation that will fully support the entire floor of the shed. Our two recommendations for foundations are either a cement pad or a wooden framed foundation.
