Description

Why shouldn’t your outdoor storage shed be as stylish as your house? Lifetime storage sheds are a solution to your storage problems as well as a great backyard attraction. This storage shed comes with shelving units and peg strips so you can find what you need, when you need it. Keep your garden equipment organized and handy with attractive Lifetime outdoor storage sheds. The Lifetime 6405 shed is UV-protected from fading and cracking. The high-impact polyethylene floor is resistant to stains and solvents, so spills are easily cleaned up. Constructed from high-density polyethylene plastic with steel reinforcements, this Lifetime 6405 outdoor storage shed is built to weather the storms for many years. And you'll appreciate that it's low maintenance--No painting. No rusting! Made in the USA from US and imported parts. Covered by a 10 yr. limited factory warranty in US and Canada. Compatible with our 8 ft expansion kits.

Approved for Dade Co., FL. NOA 09-0728.08 if reinforced with the Lifetime Extreme Weather Kit accessory.

Consult local building codes before assembly. This outdoor storage shed must be built on a flat level foundation of wood or concrete (not included). It is designed with a slight indentation in each corner of the floor so that you can drill through the flooring to secure it to the foundation. Anchoring hardware depends on the type of foundation you have and is therefore not included in the shed kit. Not including the installation of the foundation, you can expect assembly of the shed itself to take 2 adults up to 6 hours. Watch our helpful video on How To Build A Lifetime Shed. (Components will vary between different models).

For more information about assembly of our storage sheds, read the Owner's Manual Sample.

8' x 10' Storage Shed (1 window) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 62.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Shed! Pros:"Good Looks","Very sturdy","Spacious" Cons:"Needs better instructions" Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. We've had this shed for about four years now and it looks like we bought it yesterday. It stands up to rain, wind, snow, and ice very well and I have never noticed any leaking. My wife and I put the shed up in about 5 hours on a Saturday with a minimum of cussing (an amazing feat for me). Three people would have definitely been better. I do remember having to read some sections of the instructions repeatedly in order to make sense of them, though. Take your time and be patient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lifetime 8ft x 10ft Outdoor Storage Shed Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. It took myself and my 14 year old son 8 hours to put it up. I would have taken 6 but there are 2 things that are a problem. First the sky lights, its a pain in the butt to put the sealant around the punch hole. Second the roof would have been a snap. however for some inexplicable reason they put screw hole stars on the edge of the eaves shingles. It give you the impression your putting the roof on wrong. After an hour I realized I was doing it right and it went on like a breeze. Overall it an excellent product, the instructions were well organized an easy to follow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great Shed! Pros:"Great Instructions","Sturdy","Easy Installation" Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. This thing was very easy to assemble. Heck me and my 6 year old son were able to put all of the walls up and then a little help from a friend and we had the whole thing completed in a few short hours. The instructions were great. They even tell you how to build a base and give you three different options. I took the instructions to the local lumber store and they pre-cut all of the materials for me and it worked perfectly. I am extremely happy with how it looks and it really seems sturdy! By the way this is the first and only shed I have ever built so you don't have to be a master at construction.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice Pros:"Size Aesthetics" Cons:"Instructions" Best Uses:"Garage Storage Workshop" Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. As almost every other reviewer has stated the directions leave something to be desired. We were able to figure it out and got it put together in about 6 hours with one person working alone for about half of that time. We bought the 2.5' extension as well and it fit right in. My neighbor (who helped me put it up) is jealous now and wants one as well. I got several positive comments from my neighbors when I was done. It matched our neighborhood homes perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product Pros:"durability" Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Just needed to tell a story about this shed: About a Month ago a Tree literally fell on this shed. Not only did the shed divert the tree from it's original target of my deck, but it withstood the weight of the Tree for about 30 hours before collapsing. Being that the shed is made of mostly plastic I was dumbfounded by the fact that it withstood that much weight on top of it for so long. This is a very durable shed and I just ordered the replacement for the now collasped one. I wouldn't have bought anything else. Great Product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great investment I bought this shed in August of 2010. It is holding up very well. I live in the north east with cold winters an hot summers. Still no problems. I do rake heavy snow off roof just to be on safe side. The instructions were super, as long as you followed them. You don't want to get ahead of yourself. A neighbor and myself installed it in about a full day. A third person would be an asset. Someone who can just keep track of each instruction. I had skipped a step in haste, and had to back track. But, following them to a tee, made installation quite easy. You definately need a flat surface. I was lucky because I already had a concrete slab where my previous steel shed stood. I added the shutters to the window and it enhanced the appearance of the shed. I would highly recommend this shed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good design. Form and Function I put this shed together myself in one days time with no one else helping me. The only thing I did not like about the assembly was how tough it was to get the wall tabs into the floor slots. I ended up using a cut 2x6 and my 5 lb hammer to pound the walls in from the top.. This took me the longest time. Everything else was a pleasure to assemble..plenty of hardware to boot. It was installed on a level concrete surface however I did end up having to shim the left front and right rear just slightly. ((hopefully it holds up over time))

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is what you are looking for Pros:"Easy assembly","Very sturdy","Looks great" Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Very Happy with this shed, very nice and sturdy. Looks great after we finished....Mine was tan not white of which I am very glad of, white would have gotten dirty too easy. Take your time, note: the bags are not labeled correctly so sort things out and go by picture. Took two of us about 6 hours including base and that was with my neighbor doing most of the work, I was there to hold and hand pieces and parts. Goes together great, FOLLOW directions one page at a time.......Even shimming at the end, I was surprised when I shimed like they said and it worked even though I had it bolted down....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Happy With Quality- But still trying to determine where water is coming from. I am very happy with the shed overall. I used teated timbers and pea stone to prepare the ground for the flooring. If I had to do it over again I would start with a concrete floor or completely build a teated wood floor. The only issue I am dealing with now is that when it rains I get some small puddles near the doors or randomly in other places. I know it's not coming from the roof, but cannot determine its origin. The two areas I do see gaps when the doors are closed when I am inside are the areas near bottom of the door hinge sides and some opening on the left door hinge side all along the edge. With only 3 weeks in use, I will continue to monitor and try various fixes to this issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I'd strongly advise having a helper with assembly. I'd also advise you to watch the lifetime product video for step by step assembly. The written directions are not that clear and confusing at times so the video comes in very handy. Pay attention when unpacking because parts are not always in the same box that are needed for the step by step instructions. Other words they are scattered throughout the different boxes. A better packaging or organizing of packaging is needed.

Ask a Question

We purchased one of your 6405 sheds. We just wanted to know if it was alright to put in sheets of foam insulation. We live in Yuma, AZ and it sometimes is over ll0 degrees in the summer.

Asked by: Phyllis1
It should be just fine to insulate your shed.

I see a number of reviewers had problems with doors not meeting properly. Has this been addressed or is it likely related to base not being level.

Asked by: David
I have had and spent hours trying to align the doors. The base was level, and when constructing everything was square and level. I have had to remove the black holders for the doors as this was causing the overlap in the door. Very let down for spending 1k on a shed.

I want to paint my wooden frame the same color as the door.  Can you provide me the paint color code of the door please?

Asked by: Bogoy
Our paint code is not something you will be able to use to match paint color. We would recommend taking one of the smaller parts to use as a color match.

What kind of anchoring system or kit do you recommend for anchoring this shed to a concrete slab?

Asked by: ldwfind
The simplest way to secure a shed to concrete is with concrete anchor bolts. Installing the bolts requires drilling holes through the shed's flooring and directly into the concrete with a hammer drill.
