Description

Don’t let the decorative design fool you—The Lifetime 6446 shed is tough! Keep all your tools and garden equipment conveniently stored where you use them—in the yard. No more rummaging through the house or garage. The Lifetime 6446 shed also features several shelving units and peg strips to help you keep those tools organized and right at your fingertips. Constructed of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic and reinforced with powder-coated steel, this attractive outdoor shed is built to weather the storms year after year. Low maintenance and weather resistant. Best of all, no painting required! Made in the USA from US and imported parts. Not compatible with the Lifetime Extreme Weather Kit.

Consult local building codes before assembly. This shed must be built on a flat level foundation of wood or concrete (not included). It is designed with a slight indentation in each corner of the floor so that you can drill through the flooring to secure it to the foundation. Anchoring hardware depends on the type of foundation you have and is therefore not included in the shed kit. Not including the installation of the foundation, you can expect assembly of the shed itself to take 2 adults up to 6 hours.

For more information about assembly, read the Owner's Manual Sample and watch our helpful video on How To Build A Lifetime Shed. (Components will vary between different models).

Reviews

15' x 8' Garden Building is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well built Pros:"Very sturdy","Easy to assemble","Attractive" Cons:"Instructions" Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. My 21 year old son and I built this shed in 8 hours. It was pretty simple, but the instructions lacked more detailed diagrams. Blow-ups of critical fittings would have been helpful. I appreciated that they include extra hardware. Nothing is more frustrating than running one screw or nut short. I poured a concrete pad for it, and am glad I did. I imaging building it on anything else could be difficult. The walls are snapped down into the floor, which requires a bit of force, and which could deform any base that is not quite solid. Follow the instructions carefully, and you can't go wrong.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Shed Option I just put this together. Tip for you - Take your time and read carefully! I haven't moved all my lawn and garden equipment in yet but it looks like this is going to be a perfect shed for me. The assembly was not too bad and I only had help during a few steps. It was actually a fun project. I had a treated framed base with treated plywood built to put it on. The quality of the shed seems adequate and it is certainly the best looking one on the market. I wish Lifetime would use a different fastener for the roof and wall panels other than a screw. Some sort of twist and lock type. Some of the screws tend to strip which is frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too many screws and pieces! I am a big fan of almost every LIFETIME product I own, just not this one! I'm a retired mechanic and it took 2 of us 14 hours to assemble. Instruction pictures are vague. Over 400 screws that must be installed by hand and many strip out far too easily even for plastic. 6 skylights that need 6 screws each and don't let much light in. Many of the parts could have been made to interlock without any screws. Worst of all it's not secure. The windows can be pushed in with very little force and should not have been made to open. In this day of computer aided design I think this was done with an abacus!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Maintenance free. Assembled on a concrete slab, summer of 2014. It has never leaked. This is the first winter of use and I am having difficulty with closing the double door due to the top frame having dropped slightly. Probably due to about 2" of snow and ice. I will have to construct an extra metal reinforcement truss for above the door to resolve this problem. The plastic roof panels are also slightly rounded downwards between the trusses. Assembly was a bit time consuming, but that should be expected. I strongly recommend 2 people to assemble. On the inside I have added fluorescent lights and a receptacle and outside I also have a receptacle and a small yard floodlight over the door. This is quite an attractive looking medium size storage shed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ROOM!!! ROOM!!! I've had this shed two years now, had it at a rental house first and now at my own home, I love the durability of it! We had a serious wind storm come thru recently, it tore up our gazebo ,put holes into our siding and our window screens due to the inch size hail...this shed stood tall thru it all without any damage whatsoever.... I have a riding lawn mower , push mower, snowblower, a set of tires , wheelbarrow, and a quite a few other things in this shed!!! It has ROOM still! I love it!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shed shed came in 4 boxes, 1 very heavy box. Took me and a helper 8 hours to set it up and we are pretty handy guys. Can see how it may take others a lot longer. Do not attempt to do solo, a helper is necessary. Set the shed on a level bed of 3/4 gravel and I don't think it's the best base but will be fine. The hardest part was getting the roof trusses together but once getting the hang of the first two it gets easier. The walls snap into place easily and the rest of the installation was a breeze. Great shed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I was really looking forward getting it but :-(  After about 12 hours it is up. All I have to say cheep and poorly designed. I am a car mechanic, I take a transmission rebuilt any time over this job. As for the quality it's way too expansive for the quality. I do not recommend this product. You can not use power tool because some screws hard too hard to put in some are so easy to over torque so again because of the quality you must put all 400 +++ screws by had FYI I got the 15x8. After spending all this time putting it together I don't want to take it apart to return it. If it was easy job and I had the box, I would but I'm stuck with it.   So you do what you like !This is as real as it gets I don't know about other brand but I am very disappointed getting this shed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Looking; Good Value Pros:"Great Appearance","Clear parts listing" Cons:"Confusing instructions" Best Uses:"Extra storage" Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Used for additional storage. My wife and I put it up in about two days. Great appearance, looks terrific in backyard. Well constructed, solid materials. Be sure to follow instructions exactly, some instructions were not as clear as should be; we had to call for help once. Definitely need two people

Do you have reenforcement roof support to sell?

Asked by: jessie
We do not have a specific kit for this model but we do have a snow load kit for our 10'x8' sheds (60125) that if you purchase two kits you would have enough for the size you are asking about.

Can I purchase this shed already assembled, and if so will it be the same price or higher and how much will it be installed and de,inverted to my home in NJ?

These sheds can only come unassembled. To assemble it you would have to do it yourself or hire a contracture form your local area.
