Tamarack Angler Kayak (olive) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Kayak On The Market Researched about 7 brands of kayaks. Purchased this one last summer and hope to buy another for use by friends. I'm 65 and afraid of the water. Never thought I would get in a kayak. It is so stable and easy to handle you could use it like a paddle board. Tracks well and plenty of storage for fishing, etc. Well made with super tough material, comfortable seat/back rest and easy for me to transport and handle by myself. I use it almost every day June-August--canals, harbor and Albemarle Sound in NC. Lifetime backs their product. I definitely made the right choice. Very happy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seat is comfortable, dry boxes are a joke Ordered through another vendor for my husband... the kayak seat is comfortable. HOWEVER, the dry storage "compartments" (Two 6" Storage Compartments in Rear and Center) is a joke! There are two 6" round lids that open into the ENTIRE hull of the kayak! There is not 2 "compartments". Therefore, if you throw your keys & phone into the "compartment" between your legs, it will slide from the front of the kayak to the rear & getting your stuff out is nearly impossible. Horrible engineering flaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bang for your buck!! I bought this kayak last weekend and have had it in the water multiple times. This kayak is very stable, first day out was on rougher waters, and even though I haven't been in one in years, I had no issues. You can lean side to side without feeling like you're going to dump it. The only downside, as mentioned above, is the storage space that allows gear to go everywhere, so plan accordingly. I'm looking to install some sort of cargo netting inside to help control this. I was skeptical buying this being a bigger guy, 6' and 255lbs on a good day, however this thing handles me and my 3 year old with no issues. I highly recommend this kayak for anyone curious about fishing off of one. For the price, this can't be beat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Kayak I just bought this and  took it home .very nice looking, love all the fishing pole holders. I was kinda disappointed in the fact that  all the drain holes were plugged with plastic, and not cut out all the way, and the dry storage parts had handfuls or plastic shavings. I am hoping it floats and sealed well, also that i can some how cut out the drain holes all the way . I have seen so many good reviews and was a little sad to see the manufacture mistake letting a kayak leave like that. :(    over all cant wait to try it out and hoping the rest of it is as good as i heard about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd kayak I bought love it I love this kayak for the price, it's stable out on the bay, plenty of room to fish. Easy to maneuver, and my like like it better than their recreational kayaks. I just love it. Thinking about getting a new one. Just one thing, don't loose the compartment covers. Hard to get another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from really good kayak This is a two part review. First is for using as it was designed. Second is using it for what it wasn't and that's fast water and rapids. As a flat/slow water fishing kayak I love it. The keel keeps it tracking good, paddles easy and plenty fast enough. It's light enough to load and load it out of my truck even with all fishing gear already on it. Stable enough to stand up in in calmer waters. It also paddles into a fairly stiff wind with little effort. If this is what you need in a kayak my recommendation is buy it. Now for they say it's not for. :)I live on the Llano river in central Texas. River flows anywhere from 50 cfs to 100,000 cfs depending on rain fall, it's also a boulder and granite strewn river every inch of it's 80 miles. . Today it was upto 408 when we headed out for some fun in the rapids. My concern was that same keel I love when fishing. I was worried it would hit rocks in the fast current of rapids (far faster then the 400 cfs) and turn me sideways and cause me to get dumped. Much to my pleasure it's wide enough that it never once did that even when dropping down waterfalls of around three feet high. it just went right on down. Bow plunging under water often which is expected and still easily controlled. The scupper holes drained fairly fast and a lot faster than my buddies yak from another maker. There was also barely any water in the hull even though the hatches were completely submerged many times. So if you want a fishing kayak that can also do some whitewater get this one. Lifetime says flat water only but what do they know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Kayak! Purchased mine on sale for a lifetime store. Took it out for the first time last week and since it was my first time on a kayak it was really weird. After a little bit I was really comfortable moving and fishing in it. Haven't used the dry compartment but its huge. The holes up where the legs go are kind of irritating because water comes in them and gets on your pant legs but when its hot who cares. It was the best fishing trip by far, caught allot of Crappie on it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall, Great value I recently purchased two of these kayaks. They track well and are very stable in a sitting position. I fish saltwater and have taken this yak out in 3 foot swells with no issue. I would NOT recommend standing in the kayak as it is not quite stable enough for that. Overall, the features provided Out of the Box are good for the price. There's only 2 real downfalls,1st. The tank well runs the entire hull of the kayak so, if storing anything small, it can easily slide around in the storage well out of arms reach.2nd, the scupper holes behind the seat allow you to get a bit of a wet behind and then water can (only slightly) leak into the hull of the kayak via the rivets holding the seat bottom down.3rd, the back of the seat is not very strong. If you lean back too far the seat will double over the support straps which can make getting comfortable during long trips a bit of a hassle. This issue is easily resolved by using a bait well, or milk crate behind the seat.Overall, I would recommend this kayak to anyone who wants to try out kayak fishing, or even to an experienced angler.

The front storage ring is not attached to the kayak. Clearly there are holes in the kayak and the black ring with lid but it is not attached. The rear storage ring is attached with rivets. Should I have received something to attach it with?

I'm looking at the Tamarack 120 Angler (olive) and the Muskie 120 Angler Kayak (tan). Other than slight weight difference and color, are they pretty much the same kayak? Thanks

Asked by: Mikey
Yes they are the same.

Why is this same kayak $215 at Walmart?

Asked by: Reyburn
All of the re-sellers of our product choose the price at which they sell product. If you are able to find the kayak through them at a less expensive cost than we would recommend purchasing through them to save you some money.

Other than rear storage hatch, seat cushion, and rod holder... Is there any difference between the Tamarack and the Tahoma?

Asked by: Carter
There are no other differences between the two kayaks. The hull design is the same between both models. The only differences are the ones that you have pointed out with the seat cushion, rod holders, and the storage hatch behind the seat.
