Assembly & Manuals

XL Base, 52 in. Steel-Framed Acrylic, Power Lift is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Backboard is great- a little hard to assemble Replaced an older, smaller Lifetime portable and this one is much superior. Instructions specifically indicate that two adults should assemble this product. Be sure to follow that suggestion. It would help if the instructions indicated the required position of the base and pole when attaching the backboard. My son loves this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great basketball hoop!! I got this Lifetime basketball system for me and my friends to play on and it is strong enough to handle the abuse that we give it. My 7 year old daughter and her friends use it too and they have no problems raising and lowering the backboard. This is a great system that is easy to adjust and use for adults and children!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifetime Customer Service Purchased at Costco over a year ago. PowerLift piston would no longer support weight of rim/backboard and would gradually lower itself. I assume this is out of fear of my 13 yr old son's powerful "Shaq-esque" like dunks over his neighborhood competition. I also noticed he had cracked the rim itself with his superior genetics. That's my boy!.....#BallisLife. Happy to say....Lifetime Products backed their warranty and immediately sent a replacement "piston" and new rim free of charge. Great customer service. Couldn't be happier. Let the scholarships roll in..........

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality The XL Base was a gift from a friend for my 12 year old son. The base of the post is connected by two flimsy support beams and they broke after repeated use. My son was adjusting the hoop to dunk but didnt hang on the rim. The backboard dangerously crashed down and the manufacturer should consider more sturdy support beams for the heaviness of the post. Disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product Great hoop with super easy adjustment and high quality materials, Little challenging assembly but no worse than you'd expect from any similar product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good hoop! Bought this for my 11-year-old and he is loving it. Adjustable, so it will grow with him. Assembly was fairly easy. Filled it with water now (still summer) but will exchange the water for sand before the winter. Can't compare to the quality of other manufacturers, but I'm pretty pleased with what I see so far (in terms of hardware, powdercoat, etc.). Had a small issue and Lifetime customer service made it right.

What are the material differences between your 54" portable basketball hoops model 7152, 71524 and 90487. The prices ranges from $699.99 - $549.99 but I cannot determine any difference in all 3 products.

Asked by: Steve Hill
The only difference between models 71522 and 71524 is the style of backboard that each system comes with. Model 71522 has a backboard that has a frame thickness of 1.5" while model 71524 has a backboard with a frame thickness of 1". All other features between these two systems are the same. Model 90487 comes with our Pump adjustment mechanism instead of our Powerlift style handle and also the main pole on this model is black in color where the other two systems have a gray colored pole.

Once assembled, how low can I get the unit? I want to store in my garage and need to know how high the top of the backboard is when at it's lowest setting. Thank you.

Asked by: Mike
You will actually need to take into account the height of the pole as the backboard will lower below the height of the pole. The pole when assembled and on the unit measures approximately 110".

Our neighbor who,has this is moving and wants us to have it - we live 3 doors down.  It's filled with sand.  We figure the wheels wouldn't handle us pushing it up the street.  Any suggestions on how to move it without taking sand out?

Asked by: Harriet
Our portable systems are designed to be moved around even when the base is filled. You should be able to move the system without any issues. We do recommend having a couple people to help move the unit.

Other than the acrylic backboard of the 71522 vs. the Macron polycarbonate backboard of the 71523, 71524, and 90088, what are the other differences among these models?

Asked by: Jimmy
The only other difference besides the backboard material on the 71522, is the graphics on the backboards. The height adjustment mechanism and the size of the portable bases are all the same.
