Surf's Up! Todd Mosher: Ultimate Guy Getaway Winner

LITTLETON, CO RESIDENT TODD MOSHER CREATES ULTIMATE "BACKYARD GUY GETAWAY"

Todd Mosher from Littleton, Colorado, a finalist in the "Backyard Guy Getaway" Contest sponsored by Lifetime Products, took home $10,000 by creating America's Ultimate "Backyard Guy Getaway." Mosher turned an all-weather storage shed from Lifetime Products into his ideal manspace, a Landlocked Surf Shed, featuring bamboo walls, beach chairs and sand on the floor.

Selected from 450 entries, Todd Mosher and two other finalists were awarded an 11' x 13.5' Lifetime shed, as well as $2,500 to turn the shed into their dream hideaway. The three finalists worked throughout the month of May to buy, build and hunt down whatever unexpected treasures they deemed necessary to create the Ultimate "Backyard Guy Getaway."

Having entered the contest in March, Todd Mosher was selected as a finalist in April and immediately began planning his Landlocked Surf Shed. By the end of May, Mosher had fully stocked his shed, topping it off with his favorite piece, a royal blue surfboard. "I spent hours planning the perfect layout for my shed and now it's really paid off! I think I'll use the $10,000 to take my family to a real surf shack on a sandy beach in Hawaii," said Mosher.

Sam Martin, the author of Manspace: A Primal Guide to Marking Your Territory, served as the contest judge. Martin says, "To me, the surf shed embodies the manspace ideal — it reveals the owner's interests, his excitement and his stuff... the sand, the bamboo walls, the tiki bar — this guy really indulged himself."

The other two finalists were Michael Irelan of Victorville, California, who created a 1950s Movie Lobby Shed; and Glynn Stallard of Centereach, New York, who created a Galileo Star Shed.

The ladies also need a space of their own, that's why we have chosen three winners in our Ultimate "Backyard Gal Getaway Contest!" Emily Gilliam of Minford, OH, Gail Jones of Martinsville, VA and Cassy Jordan of Pueblo, CO will all receive a Lifetime Outdoor Storage Shed, plus $2,500 to create their own getaway!
