dicks1.jpgCan you make 121 free throws in a row?  We know someone who did!  During the Dick’s Sporting Goods Store grand opening event in Layton, Utah, we had a customer at our booth make 121 free throws in a row to set the record and win a Lifetime Basketball System! We also had a child make 95 free throws in a row.  Pretty impressive numbers.

The free throw contest was just one of the many activities Lifetime sponsored at the new Dick’s Sporting Goods in Layton, Utah during its grand opening the weekend of September 16-18.  Since Dick’s Sporting Goods sells our products, they invited Lifetime to take part in the celebration.  This was a great community event that brought out hundreds of people in our local area.  The three-day event started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning and had a steady stream of customers throughout the weekend.

Dicks3.JPGWe loved being able to chat and meet with so many of our customers and local community members.  We even met the person who bought the very first Lifetime Basketball System sold in the new store!  We set up a Lifetime booth outside in front of the store and held lots of fun activities and giveaways for Lifetime gear and products.  There were lucky winners who walked away with free Lifetime Basketball Hoops, Lifetime Double Shots, a Lifetime Youth Kayak, and a Chute 98 Kayak (a sit-inside kayak Lifetime makes exclusively for Dick’s).  We even had the Utah Jazz Bear at our booth for two hours on Saturday entertaining visitors with silly string and autographs  - some on the kids’ foreheads :).

Dicks2.JPGOverall, it was a really fun and busy weekend.  (This was also the same weekend that over 500 Lifetime employees beautified two parks and a cemetery in Utah.  So, our employees were really out-and-about helping in our community those two days.)  We were proud to be a part of the celebration and help welcome one of Lifetime’s retail accounts to Layton.
