dual composter.jpgWith Spring just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about your garden. Here in Utah, it has felt like Spring all winter long. We have had a very mild winter. I fear, however, there is more snow to come which means the tulips and daffodils are in for a rude awaking.

It’s a good time to start building up your compost reserves to feed those plants that will feed you this summer. Lifetime is still very much in the composter business and we have had tremendous success with our composters. I feel we have helped to make another step in "greening up" our planet with the vast amounts of Lifetime composters that are composting away in yards all over the world.

I'm excited to share with you that because of the success of our composters, we have developed a new version based on feedback from our customers! As you may know, a key element to getting good compost is time. To get good compost, there comes a point when you need to stop adding raw materials to the mix and allow for it to “cook” for a while. Adding raw compost continuously prolongs the time until your compost is complete.

Customers told us that they didn’t know what to do with their raw compost while the batch in the composter was cooking.  Problem solved! With the new Lifetime Dual Compost Tumbler, we provide two fifty gallon tumblers on the same frame. This way, once one tumbler is full and ready to start cooking, there is another tumbler ready to take in the raw compost. Both tumblers rotate on the same frame so you can turn them easily. We have also included an indicator so that you can visually see which tumbler is cooking and should be left alone.

Similar to Lifetime's single barrel composters, the Lifetime Dual Compost Tumbler also features an internal aerated bar in each barrel which mixes the compost and allows air to flow through the composter to help quicken the batching process time. To also speed up composting time, the Lifetime Dual Compost Tumbler is constructed of black, double-wall high-density polyethylene (HDPE) panels specifically designed to absorb and retain heat.

We hope you enjoy this new product, and you find composting useful and productive. We would love to hear your success stories this Spring. Send us your stories and pictures of the great produce your compost is helping to grow or share them on our Facebook page.
