Our goal is to ensure a timely installation so you have the best experience possible. Please read through the key steps in the process below.
STEP 1 - PREPARING FOR YOUR IN-GROUND HOOP INSTALLATION:
After your order is received by Lifetime Products, the installation company will contact you within 24-48 business hours to discuss details and schedule your installation.
The installers will need to dig a hole up to 4 feet deep and 2 feet wide. Because of this, Blue Stakes must be contacted prior to installation to ensure safety. It is the customer's responsibility to coordinate with the installer as to who will contact Blue Stakes. Please choose two spots to be approved by your local utility company - in case of an unforeseen obstruction. If any obstructions (i.e. sprinkler systems, electric dog fences, electrical lawn lighting) are found by the technician during the installation, they cannot continue and a new site will have to be chosen or service will have to be rescheduled.
STEP 2 - 1ST AND 2ND VISIT DETAILS:
The installation of your in-ground system will be done in two visits, approximately 3-4 days apart. A responsible adult must be present for both visits.
VISIT 1:
The technician will dig the hole in the designated place. If the technician encounters an immovable object at the primary location, they will dig a hole at the secondary location. The technician will then pour the needed amount of concrete (up to 1680 pounds) into the hole. You will be shown that the mounting plate or bottom pole section is level at the completion of Visit 1. It is IMPERATIVE that the pole not be touched or bumped for the 1st 24-72 hours.
VISIT 2:
After the concrete has set properly, the technician will visit your home to complete the installation of your basketball system. The technician will require the signature of a responsible adult at the time the installation is completed. After the assembly is complete, your technician will remove all trash and packing materials on your property. Your technician is not responsible for the disposal of the dirt removed to create the hole.
CONTACT INFORMATION:
Please contact Lifetime's Installation Department at 1(800)336-3865 or email installationservices@lifetime.com if you have any questions or concerns about the process.
SERVICE AGREEMENT INFORMATION:
As part of this service agreement, the technician will not dig through asphalt or concrete. If an existing in-ground unit is being replaced, the homeowner must have it removed prior to the rst visit. The technician can remove an old system for additional charge:
Removal through concrete = additional $500
Removal through grass = additional $400
