Dear Family – a Letter from Dad

Bill Cosby had it right. Yes, many of us dads are the “fun ones,” the “jokesters,” and the “dress up dolls.” There are fathers all over the world “who get things they can’t use and . . . don’t want.” With Father’s Day coming up I wanted to offer some suggestions for things that Dad actually wants: Want – Deck Box. Give dad a Lifetime Deck Box so he has somewhere to quickly put away all of the kid’s toys left on the lawn. Keep them safe so he doesn't hit them with the lawn mower anymore. So, really . . . it’s a gift that keeps giving.  Don’t Want – Another light-up, pink, paisley, or superhero tie. It’s just another burp rag for the baby to spit up on. Want – New

Repeat to Three-Peat?

The NBA Finals are hours away. Who do you have? Either way I think this is going to be an exciting rematch from the 2013 finals. Finals rematches don't come around too often so make sure you watch history in the making. The Spurs are coming for redemption and Heat are trying for a three-peat. The NBA Finals are always an exciting time of year in my house. We like to grill up BBQ for dinner and watch the games as a family. After the games, get out on a Lifetime Basketball system and shoot some hoops with the family to bring it home.

Only Three Games Left - Enter to Win a Portable Hoop

The NBA Finals are in full swing. The showdown between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs has been going back and forth for four games now. Will the Big Three repeat their game-four performance or will San Antonio’s savvy veterans and young bench continue to cause problems for the Heat? Only three games left before basketball comes to a head. Even though the NBA season is ending, it doesn’t mean the basketball season has to end. One of my favorite pastimes were the summer night spent in the driveway playing basketball (way back then, we had a Lifetime Hoop!) with my brothers and friends. A lot of time was spent pretending to be one of the legendary players from the 80’s and 90’s: Bird, Magic, Jordan, Stockton, and Malone (let’s be honest, I have a little hometown bias on the last two). With a new gen

Final Four

One and Done. That's what is so exciting about March Madness. The performances you never forget are just that.  If you've watched even a minute of tournament basketball in your life, you have those memories. Often the Final Four Teams are not the best teams in America. But in my house, that's okay. Why? We tend to follow the Cinderella stories and rooting for the underdog has become a family tradition. The Wichita State Shockers are that team – stunning March and making it to Atlanta to play the #1 team in the tournament: Louisville. Will the clock turn midnight before Wichita State can finish their run? Who knows. But I know my family and I will be glued to the TV hoping for that Cinderella story to end happily ever after. Want to have your own Final Four fun? Check out our basketball page on Lifeti

First 10 Customers Get 40% Off The New Lifetime Netball System!

Be one of the first 10 customers to purchase the new Lifetime Netball system on buylifetime.com and get 40% off the regular price! (One system per customer.)  Lifetime Products has added the unique game of Netball to its line up of basketball hoops so don't miss this introductory special. The Netball system is not like any other basketball hoop. It is designed with a portable 10 gallon base, a telescoping pole that adjusts from 7.5 to 10 ft, and a 15" rim, but unlike other basketball goals, it does not have a backboard. That makes it much more challenging to get the ball in the net!  The game of Netball was derived from early versions of basketball. Some of the differences between the rules of basketball and netball are:

From Factory to Floor to You

Over the years, we’ve told you about how our blow-molded products are made, and how our metals are powder-coated to protect them, but how does the whole process work, anyway?  I certainly didn't know before I started working for Lifetime.  But, here at the Freeport Center, all your products begin from scratch.  When I was first hired, I had the chance to tour the entire facility. And it was probably one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen.  No kidding.  Did you know that in our blow-molding facility, our High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic starts

The All New Lifetime Power Flex - New Rim, New Adjustment Mechanism

The coolest thing about working at Lifetime Products is our dedication to innovate and make stuff that just doesn't exist yet. Our newest basketball system  - the Power Flex System - is my favorite system that we make because of just that.  In an industry that is saturated with competition, we were able to come up with an in-ground basketball system that is unique in many ways. First, we started with the height adjustment mechanism. Our engineers were able to patent new technology with a gas-assist, triggerless handle adjustment called the Power Lift® XL Height Adjust.  This new Power Lift XL is similar to our existing Power Lift® mechanism that Lifetime invented in 1996  - which was the first

What NOT to Do When Assembling a Lifetime Basketball Hoop

A few months ago I forewarned you of the top three things to know before assembling a Lifetime Basketball Hoop. Today, I'm going to share with you some of the specific hurdles I alluded to in that post that we crossed along the way when assembling our own Lifetime Basketball Hoop (model 90228). To be honest, I'm kind of embarrassed to share my story with you given some of the pretty major "oopsies" we had.  After all, since I work for Lifetime, you'd think I'd know how to assemble the products.  Not necessarily true.  This was my first time assem

Top 3 Things We Learned When Assembling Our Lifetime Basketball Hoop

So, a few weeks ago, I wrote about our decision to buy a Lifetime Portable Basketball Hoop - Model 90228.  Well, it's assembled, up, and the kids are loving it.  When the box arrived, the kids couldn't wait for us to put it together.  The cool thing about Lifetime basketball hoops is even though it's a pretty large product, it's actually packaged all in one box.  Granted, it's a big box (size varies slightly depending on the size of backboard you buy).  But, it easily fits in an SUV and probably in the trunk of most mid-sized cars.  By the way, did you know Lifetime actually invented packaging basketball hoops in one box?  Really, they did! Back in 1992. It may seem
