Lifetime Products Receives Greatest Contributor Award
December 7, 2011
CLEARFIELD, UTAH — Lifetime Products, Inc., a Utah-based manufacturing company, received the Greatest Contributor Award during the third annual "Entrepreneur Excellence" awards banquet hosted today by the Northfront Entrepreneur Alliance.
This prestigious award is given to a company that has contributed heavily to expanding and growing entrepreneurial activity in Northern Utah. According to the Northfront Entrepreneur Alliance whose goal is to foster and promote entrepreneurism in Northern Utah, Lifetime was chosen for its large economic impact on Utah.
“Lifetime has demonstrated it is family-oriented and cares about its employees," said Northfront Entrepreneur Alliance Advisory Board Member and presenter of the award, Kent Sulser. “Lifetime has been adaptable and able to survive in many economic climates. Lifetime has shown innovation in its products and business practices, as well as having contributed strongly to the community through various activities. They are truly a great company, but equally important, they are great people.”
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Lifetime Products is one of the largest employers in Northern Utah, with more than 1,200 employees at its headquarters and manufacturing facilities located in the Freeport Center in Clearfield. Lifetime is the world-leader of residential basketball systems, and folding tables and chairs, and also manufactures kayaks, sheds, playsets, and more with products sold in 58 countries around the globe.
During this past year, Lifetime introduced approximately 100 new product models, added over 120 new USA accounts, added 27 new patents to its over 500 design and utility patents, and grew its international sales by 18 percent. In addition to its manufacturing and sales successes, Lifetime also prides itself on giving back to its local community through various philanthropic and volunteer activities including a Salute Our Troops event, blood drives, and its annual company-wide community service project. This Fall, over 900 Lifetime employees spent two Saturday mornings donating their time to build a hiking trail in Ogden and to beautify a park and cemetery in West Point City. The projects consumed approximately 2,700 man-hours, saving both cities thousands of dollars in labor.
"We are very appreciative of the award," said Lifetime Products President Richard Hendrickson. "We have always been a company that strives to make things better - whether it's improving products, processes, or communities. So, receiving this award for something we love doing day-in and day-out, is very humbling."
