Lifetime Teams Up with Clearfield for Large Scale Beautification Project
October 9, 2010
CLEARFIELD, UTAH — Employees of local manufacturing company Lifetime Products met this morning at Clearfield City’s Steed Park for Lifetime’s 5th Annual Community Service Project. Over 800 employees were busy laying sod, trimming trees, leveling baseball diamonds, staining pavilions, picking up trash, and much more, to beautify and improve the 23-acre Steed Park for local residents. Clearfield City Parks and Recreation coordinated much of the work, and employee team leaders guided 18 large teams working simultaneously on the projects, resulting in a complete park makeover in approximately three hours.
At the conclusion of this beautification project, remarks were given by Lifetime President Richard Hendrickson and Clearfield City Mayor Don Wood.
“There aren’t even words adequate to express my appreciation for what you have done today,” said Mayor Wood. “There are people who drove by here last night, who will drive by tomorrow and think- what happened?” After his remarks, the Mayor presented Hendrickson with a plaque in recognition of Lifetime’s efforts.
Lifetime utilized much of its own manufactured products for the project, including Lifetime folding tables, wheelbarrows, yard carts, kayaks and trailers. The project employed approximately 2,400 man-hours, which Mayor Wood estimated to be a $31,200 savings for Clearfield City. All Lifetime employees worked off the clock, earning a credit toward January Profit Sharing, Lifetime’s bi-annual employee benefit program that gives a percentage of the company’s revenue to each employee.
