NASCAR’S BEST TAILGATERS…START YOUR ENGINES!

NEW YORK, NY – The sweet smell of hickory combined with sounds of revving engines, juicy smoked ribs on the grill and colorful shrines to celebrity drivers all mean one thing…it’s time to tailgate, NASCAR style! This summer, Lifetime Products, Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of folding tables — a must-have for great tailgating set-ups — will name “America’s Ultimate Tailgater” at The Tailgate of a Lifetime 2006 Tailgating Championship.

Five finalists will be selected to join celebrity chef, Mario Batali, author of Mario Tailgates NASCAR Style (Sporting News 2006), for an all-expense paid trip to Michigan International Speedway for the championship.  On Saturday, August 19, they will have the chance to create their ultimate tailgate parties including a three-course meal, over-the-top decorations and all the trappings that make NASCAR tailgates so unique.  Judged by Batali, one of the top 50 NASCAR drivers of all time, Ernie Irvan, and Richard Hendrickson, president of Lifetime Products, Inc., the champion will go home with the title of “America’s Ultimate Tailgater,” a tailgating prize pack from Lifetime and $10,000 cash.   

HOW TO ENTER:
Think you have what it takes to be crowned “America’s Ultimate Tailgater”?  Tell us why, in 250 words or less, and also:

Submit your top five tips for creating the perfect tailgate party.
Share your favorite, original tailgating recipe.  
If selected as a finalist, this is one of three recipes you will be asked to prepare at the finals.
While not required, entrants are also encouraged to submit photos or videos that demonstrate their abilities in the area of tailgating.

Completed entries must be received no later than July 26, 2006 and can be emailed to: tailgatingchampionship@hunterpr.com

Attached jpeg photos (no more than three) should be no more than 3MB in size, total.  Entries with video cannot be submitted via email.

No more than three hardcopy photos. Videos should be on VHS, DVD or CD-Rom media. Video files on CD-Rom will only be accepted in mov, mpeg or wmv formats.
