LIFETIME COMBINES TECHNOLOGIES IN NEW ACRYLIC FUSION™ BACKBOARD

CLEARFIELD, UTAH – Lifetime Products, the world’s leading manufacturer of residential basketball equipment, introduces its newest backboard technology – the Acrylic Fusion™ - to the basketball market.

The Acrylic Fusion™ backboard integrates an acrylic playing surface with a high-impact polyethylene frame.  The playing surface of the backboard features Lifetime’s EM5™ break-resistant acrylic while the polyethylene frame offers superior strength and enhanced playability.  

According to Lifetime Marketing Director Aaron Hill, “Combining the acrylic and polyethylene technologies provides players with a pro-glass look in a very durable backboard. The new acrylic and polyethylene construction is designed to withstand aggressive play and outdoor elements.”  Hill explained that the polyethylene construction will not rust and is also very lightweight, making the backboard easy to raise and lower with Lifetime’s various height adjustment mechanisms.  In addition to the fusing of the two materials, the backboard also features screen-printed graphics that offer fade-resistant color.  

“Our goal is to make a variety of quality basketball systems for consumers of all skill levels.  Adding the Acrylic Fusion™ backboard extends our product line to include four backboard styles at different skill and price levels:  Graphite, Impact®, Steel-Framed Acrylic, and now the Acrylic Fusion™,” said Hill.  The new Lifetime Acrylic Fusion™ backboard is available in various sizes and can be purchased on basketball systems at select sporting goods stores and discount stores.
