CLEARFIELD, UTAH – Lifetime Products Inc., a worldwide leader in the folding table market, has achieved another victory in its ongoing efforts to enforce its intellectual property portfolio against copyists of Lifetime’s innovative product designs of blow-molded, polyethylene folding banquet tables.

Lifetime has proceeded aggressively with lawsuits against several competitors who Lifetime has determined are infringing upon the valuable intellectual property interests embodied in Lifetime’s line of folding tables.  As part of this effort, Lifetime is engaged in patent infringement litigation with NorthPole LLC and its Hong Kong parent NorthPole, Limited in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.  On Tuesday, that court entered an order denying NorthPole’s motion for summary judgment of noninfringement of Lifetime’s United States Patent No. 5,536,552.  In denying NorthPole’s motion, the court ruled that Lifetime has presented evidence that could justify a jury verdict in its favor.  The court’s ruling preserves Lifetime’s opportunity to present its case to a jury.

Lifetime will continue its vigorous pursuit of all available remedies against accused infringing products.  The law firm of Workman, Nydegger, and Seeley is representing Lifetime.

In 1998, Lifetime introduced the first blow-molded polyethylene folding banquet table.  Blow-molded polyethylene tabletops are stronger and more durable than wood, and are stain resistant.  Today, Lifetime is the world’s largest manufacturer of these polyethylene top folding tables.
